Silver comes in handy with quite a few of the creatures that the boys hunt. It works on Djinn, shapeshifters and werewolves just to name a few.
Dead man's blood has very limited uses, but when it does work, it works well. It is used as a kind of toxin to vampires. If any of this blood enters their system, it renders them useless and weak for a period of time.
Machetes come in handy when the boys come up against a creature that needs to be decapitated such as vampires. The only problem with them is that you have to get in close
Iron is a very handy thing to have around when you are hunting supernatural beings. It repels ghosts, demons, phoenix and witches to name a few. It will also kill hellhounds, the pagan god Leshi and shtrigas.
Fire also has some handy uses. If you salt and burn the bones of a ghost, it will put that spirit to rest. The same goes for demons. Burn their bones and "poof", they are gone. It is also fatal to many creatures such as the wendigo, changelings and rugarus. Fire is also used in many spells that are performed on the show.
This is the only weapon that can kill a Leviathan. It is a bone of a righteous mortal washed in the three bloods of the fallen. This blood includes the blood of a fallen angel, the ruler of fallen humanity (Crowley)and the blood of the the father of fallen beasts (an alpha).
This is the only weapon that can kill a Knight of Hell. It was given to Dean by Cain but the blade will not work unless the holder of the blade also has the mark of Cain.
That about does it for weapons. I am sure that there are many more out there but unless you are getting ready to hunt some ghosts you probably wouldn't need the extensive list. Now on with the show!
