Supernatural Season 1 premiered on September 13th, 2005 and concluded on May 4th, 2006. It consisted of 22 episodes beginning with the episode"Pilot" and ending with the episode "Devil's Trap".
It begins with Dean Winchester collecting his brother Sam from Sanford University in order to find their missing father, John. Although Sam's intentions are to return to law school after the weekend is over, he changes his mind when he arrives home to find his girlfriend, Jessica, being killed by an unknown force. The brothers then set off on a mission to find their father and track down whatever it was that killed their mother and Jessica. Season 1 mainly consists of the search for their father and the unknown killer, while killing other supernatural beings along the way. The season concludes with the family finding out that it was a demon who killed their loved ones, and the season finale ends with Dean, Sam, and John being involved in a major car accident.
